This paper is aimed to explore the concept of metamorphose within the framework of the systemic thinking, focusing on the process of change that affects objects. The theoretical systemic and interdisciplinary approach, whose birthdate is traditionally fixed as 1967, when Austrian biologist Ludwig von Bertalanffy published the General System Theory, seems fruitful to grasp at least some main traits of a phenomenon limited by prescriptions, internal and environmental dynamics that act on multiple levels. Through the lens of systemic properties (organization, emergence, second level properties, dissipation), and according to the cognitive tool of the abduction, the investigation will sketch out the possibility to explicate what is not explicit, in order to throw light on the intrinsic opacity of things, without pretending to fully describe it. By introducing a quasi-level for its explications, the systemic thinking gives an account of the continuous structural changes of the entities which are always meta-stables. The incompleteness of the process, for its intrinsic fluctuation, provides indeed novelty in systemic research.
