A survey of manuscripts and documents concerning school and education in Mantua (14th - 15th centuries). Cortona, Biblioteca Comunale e dell’Accademia Etrusca, Ms 82 – usually considered as written in Florence – was actually written in Mantua in 1335. Other manuscripts are connected to local teachers and copists, dealing with some of the most important families of the town. Milan, Biblioteca Ambrosiana, Ms S 21 sup. shows the importance of Vittorino da Feltre’s legacy for his pupils.
