Giuseppe Martini (1870-1944) was an important Italian bookseller, active in the world of the ancient book between Lucca, New York and Lugano. After a long period of oblivion, thanks to the sale of his index cards (which was part of the bibliographic collection of Carlo Alberto Chiesa), his name is back in the limelight. A group of scholars has put together a volume of studies that illuminates its activity. It is both a matter of opening a window on the many companies in which Martini was involved, but also of relaunching the studies on the history of Italian and international antiquarian book trade.

Abstract
Giuseppe Martini (1870-1944) was an important Italian bookseller, active in the world of the ancient book between Lucca, New York and Lugano. After a long period of oblivion, thanks to the sale of his index cards (which was part of the bibliographic collection of Carlo Alberto Chiesa), his name is back in the limelight. A group of scholars has put together a volume of studies that illuminates its activity. It is both a matter of opening a window on the many companies in which Martini was involved, but also of relaunching the studies on the history of Italian and international antiquarian book trade.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
