Das Leben von Pönitenten vor und nach der Verklösterichung: hospitia werden zu monasteria

The article examines the process that led many penitential communities, prevalently dedicated to charitable and welfare activities, to become monasteries directly subject to the apostolic see. Particularly, the cases of the first monasteries respectively linked to the Friars Preachers and Minors are considered. In this process the role of the papacy was fundamental, especially by pope Gregory IX

Il contributo esamina il processo che condusse numerose comunità penitenziali, prevalentmente dedite ad attività caritativo-assistenziali, a divenire monasteri direttamente soggetti alla sede apostolica. Vengono in particolare considerati i casi dei primi monasteri rispettivamente legati ai Predicatori e ai Minori. In tale processo fu fondamentale il ruolo del papato, soprattutto di Gregorio IX.
