In this note, we review how to derive restrictions on multi-output technologies from different separability assumptions, along with their parametric representation for two of the most popular flexible functional forms (translog and normalized quadratic). Such restrictions provide a useful tool in the empirical analysis of production technologies in agriculture.

Abstract

In this note, we review how to derive restrictions on multi-output technologies from different separability assumptions, along with their parametric representation for two of the most popular flexible functional forms (translog and normalized quadratic). Such restrictions provide a useful tool in the empirical analysis of production technologies in agriculture.
