The article investigates the acoustic substance of emotional speech. In order to determine the phonetic influence of emotions such as anger, disgust, happiness, fear, sadness and boredom on speech articulation, a detailed acoustic and auditory comparison of emotionally marked and emotionally neutral speech is performed at three phonetic levels. A first investigation at the segmental level is aimed at finding out the degree of articulatory accuracy in vowel production. Then, at the suprasegmental level, the acoustic values of duration, intensity and fundamental frequency are measured. At last phonetic transcriptions of neutral and emotional speech are analyzed and compared in order to verify the effects emotions have on intersegmental co-ordination processes.

Abstract
The article investigates the acoustic substance of emotional speech. In order to determine the phonetic influence of emotions such as anger, disgust, happiness, fear, sadness and boredom on speech articulation, a detailed acoustic and auditory comparison of emotionally marked and emotionally neutral speech is performed at three phonetic levels. A first investigation at the segmental level is aimed at finding out the degree of articulatory accuracy in vowel production. Then, at the suprasegmental level, the acoustic values of duration, intensity and fundamental frequency are measured. At last phonetic transcriptions of neutral and emotional speech are analyzed and compared in order to verify the effects emotions have on intersegmental co-ordination processes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
