Faced with the immature idealizations of ties and narcissistic approaches, the encounter between men and women too often, today, is unable to support everyday life, confrontation and conflict, instances of freedom. In this annihilating dynamics, the dimension of “us” is likely to succumb to the impoverishment of the ego. How can we support people in the difficult (but generative) task of meeting diversity, fleeing from the temptation to “resolve it” and learning to accept it and keep it, respecting its irreducibility? The relationship between masculine and feminine is always in need of rewriting rules and behaviors, rethinking itself in new situations and phenomenologies. The pedagogical challenge prefigured in this paper is to renew reciprocity, generating fruitful exchanges, though uneasy and never totally resolved. All this in the belief that only in the dynamic space of difference can be found the opportunity to realize the encounter of male and female.

Abstract
