This article presents the International Centres of Education for Young People G.B. Scalabrini. They are placed in the context of migration, which is considered as a paradigm for life, because it highlights typical traits of human condition. The Centres aim to promote the encounter among persons of different nationalities, especially young people, either migrants or native people. Through their activities the Centres intend to shape a specific vision: the migrant is a subject with whom we can write together a page of history. The surplus of life which flows from the experience of a community; the exposition to reality; the crossing of two borders of social life (the openness towards the transcendence and to- wards the suffering); the change of point of view are movements which characterise the experience of the Centres as laboratories of dialogue.
