In view of the complexity of the subject of scholastic evaluation, the contribution examines some widespread evaluation practices and focuses on the question of the meaning of evaluation. It examines the problem of a too self-referential school assessment and indicates the directions for training teachers in evaluating competence as qualifying the professional identity and as a strategic lever for the quality of the school.
Alla luce della complessità del tema della valutazione scolastica il contributo esamina alcune pratiche valutative diffuse e si sofferma sulla questione del senso della valutazione. Esamina il problema di una valutazione scolastica troppo autoreferenziale e indica le direzioni per formare nei docenti la competenza valutativa come qualificante l’identità professionale e come leva strategica per la qualità della scuola.
