Both the fight against terrorism and the financial and economic crisis have played a negative role concerning the (evolution of the) international protection of human rights. But the so-called human rights crisis has deep roots, such as (a) the progressive removal of the fundamental reasons for protecting them at the international level and (b) the increasing underestimation of their interdependence. Some examples of this double tendency (i.e., some judicial developments of the notion of human dignity as well as some developments regardng the relationship between the social and the political dimension of the right to education) are described and (critically) discussed.

Abstract
Both the fight against terrorism and the financial and economic crisis have played a negative role concerning the (evolution of the) international protection of human rights. But the so-called human rights crisis has deep roots, such as (a) the progressive removal of the fundamental reasons for protecting them at the international level and (b) the increasing underestimation of their interdependence. Some examples of this double tendency (i.e., some judicial developments of the notion of human dignity as well as some developments regardng the relationship between the social and the political dimension of the right to education) are described and (critically) discussed.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
