This paper illustrates the theme of the home care for the elderly as a family-friendly mode to support the transition to old age. The chapter is included in a volume that is part of the publications of the National Observatory on the Family, where are presented the results of studies aimed at deepening the knowledge of specific topics within the field of family policies. In particular, this publication focuses on services for the frail elderly and their families, a topic on the agenda in all developed countries. Even in Italy these services dedicated are actually significantly present and widespread throughout the country.
