In the last two decades, adoption research showed a massive, even if not complete, catch up of children following their entrance to the adoptive family. But the family relational context within which this catch-up takes place remains largely unexplored. The longitudinal research project presented in this contribution is aimed at assessing the psychosocial recovery of adopted children in the first year after adoption and to identify protective family factors in the adjustment process to adoption. So far, 60 families have been involved. Some preliminary results about time 1 at arrival will be presented, as well as some single cases that show in details developmental trajectories in time 2 one year later and the construction of family bonds.

Abstract
In the last two decades, adoption research showed a massive, even if not complete, catch up of children following their entrance to the adoptive family. But the family relational context within which this catch-up takes place remains largely unexplored. The longitudinal research project presented in this contribution is aimed at assessing the psychosocial recovery of adopted children in the first year after adoption and to identify protective family factors in the adjustment process to adoption. So far, 60 families have been involved. Some preliminary results about time 1 at arrival will be presented, as well as some single cases that show in details developmental trajectories in time 2 one year later and the construction of family bonds.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
