“Perhaps we are all sitting in front of an open window, and it is night, there are some lights on here and there in the houses, all those stars over our heads, in space, if there is a space, as if we were in a completely different place, in the middle of the sea, and all around there is just that gasping of the dark and quiet water, without memory and warm…” With these words, Antonio Moresco introduces us to the work of Giovanni Ferrario. This first monograph dedicated to the artist is a promenade that extends across almost fifteen years of production where we can glimpse a mystery that is examined and restored through minimal, radical gestures. Flowers, plants, reflections, clippings, breaths, curiosities and surfaces are just some of the traces that the artist leaves intact behind him, a series of constantly open works which offer us glimpses of a suspended reality, momentarily stopped by the last digital scan that makes light the constant element of his poetry. As well as Moresco’s text, the volume contains written pieces by Stefano Arienti, Roberto Diodato, Emilio Isgrò, Stefano Raimondi, Attilio Stocchi and Paolo Ulian. The book ends with a review of the artist’s career, curated by Alessandro Castiglioni.
