Fantasia e buonsenso. Antonio Rubino nei periodici per ragazzi (1907-1941)

The essay analyzes the eclectic art of Antonio Rubino (1880-1964) in starting from the fantasy-common sense tandem. The personal and artistic life of the author was built on these two pillars: on one hand, Rubino challenged the customs while developing new expressive forms, on the other he was truly inspired by values. The volume analyzed the production on periodicals for children, where the fantasy- common sense dichotomy is evident in some key topics: family, school, free time, the artist, colonialism and nationalism. A deeper insight into the directive activities of Rubino for some magazines for youngsters and into the creation of animation films bring to an evaluation of the educational contribution of the famous artist to the children's literature

L’eclettica arte di Antonio Rubino (1880-1964) è analizzata nel saggio a partire dal binomio fantasia-buonsenso. La vita personale e artistica dell’autore si sviluppò su questo duplice binario: da un lato Rubino scardinò le consuetudini elaborando strade espressive nuove, dall’altro si rifece ad un chiaro orientamento valoriale. Nel volume è presa in esame la produzione sui periodici per l’infanzia, dove la dicotomia fantasia-buonsenso emerge in alcuni filoni tematici: la famiglia, la scuola, il tempo libero, l’artista, il colonialismo e il nazionalismo. Un ulteriore sguardo sulle attività direttive di Rubino per alcune testate per ragazzi e sulla creazione di film d’animazione conduce ad un bilancio dell’apporto educativo del celebre artista alla letteratura per l’infanzia.
