The chapter, originated from curiosity stimulated by a letter that Piero Sraffa wrote to John Eatwell and Alessandro Roncaglia in 1971, assesses the changes of opinion in economics that had taken place in Piero Sraffa. The Author personal assessment is that the only direction consistent with Sraffa’s line of thought lies in the conception of economic movements in terms of structural dynamics. But, the question still remains open.

Abstract

The chapter, originated from curiosity stimulated by a letter that Piero Sraffa wrote to John Eatwell and Alessandro Roncaglia in 1971, assesses the changes of opinion in economics that had taken place in Piero Sraffa. The Author personal assessment is that the only direction consistent with Sraffa’s line of thought lies in the conception of economic movements in terms of structural dynamics. But, the question still remains open.
