Il Concilio Vaticano II e la razionalità secolare

The story of the Second Vatican Council has been object of study and nowadays, after many years, the scholars try to find a unitary and total sense of the way covered, on the basis of the publication of the Council’s documents and of their preliminary discussions. The criterion on which it is possible to find a synthesis is the “pastoral” attitude of the Second Vatican, i.e. the proposal of a “sapiential” lecture of the human history, instead of an apocalyptic one. Here is clearly stated the place in which the theological realism shows its historical efficacy, not because of the imposition of a tradition, but in the incidence that it is able to exercise on the anthropological becoming: the Human as invocation of this realism is, at the same time, the space of his effective realization.

La vicenda conciliare è stata oggetto di studio e, a distanza di anni, si è cercato di trovare un senso unitario e complessivo del cammino percorso, in base alla pubblicazione dei diversi documenti e alle discussioni preliminari alla loro pubblicazione. Il criterio attorno al quale si può trovare una sintesi è quello dell’indole “pastorale” del Vaticano II, vale a dire la proposta di una lettura “sapienziale” e non apocalittica della storia umana. Qui si afferma a chiare lettere il luogo in cui in cui il realismo teologico manifesta la propria efficacia storica, ossia non in forza dell’imposizione di una tradizione ma nell’incidenza che esso è in grado di esercitare nel divenire antropologico: l’umano come invocazione di tale realismo è nel contempo lo spazio della sua realizzazione effettiva.
