Martin Rhonheimer

The essay thematizes the different levels of natural law identified by Martin Rhonheimer, both as reason's ability to carry out a spontaneous discernment of good/bad (which is the participation of the rational divine capacity), as an act of discernment itself, and as a set of precepts that are the result of that discernment. Correspondingly, according to Rhonheimer, we must also distinguish: the philosophical theory of natural law; the rational potential ability to discern good; the precepts of the natural law. One of the most original contributions Rhonheimer to the natural law’s theory is probably to deepen both the different levels on which the matter should be treated, and the role of God in each of them.

Il saggio tematizza i diversi livelli della legge naturale individuati da Martin Rhonheimer, sia come capacità della ragione di svolgere un’attività di discernimento spontaneo del bene/male (che è partecipazione della capacità razionale divina), sia come atto del discernimento stesso, sia come insieme di precetti che sono il risultato di tale discernimento.
