The question about the meaning of life and history is the criteria to measure the value of a philosophical proposal in the contemporary context: several goals have been proposed or suggested, of which man was the proponent and the addressee, in a broader frame of total immanence or uninterrupted overlapping of some over others. Nowadays, we should recognize that men can agree on a common project only if they accept that they cannot take control over the meaning: they have to admit that meaning does not depend on them. Perhaps nature, the world, the infinite meaningless pain that men cause are enough to prove the cruelty of a species who has always thought to be independent from its environment and that today is called to re-thing its transition from the idea of omnipotence to that of respect, solidarity and responsibility towards the difference and dignity of other species, of the environment, of those in need, of cultures, religions: in one word, of life in all its forms.

Abstract
The question about the meaning of life and history is the criteria to measure the value of a philosophical proposal in the contemporary context: several goals have been proposed or suggested, of which man was the proponent and the addressee, in a broader frame of total immanence or uninterrupted overlapping of some over others. Nowadays, we should recognize that men can agree on a common project only if they accept that they cannot take control over the meaning: they have to admit that meaning does not depend on them. Perhaps nature, the world, the infinite meaningless pain that men cause are enough to prove the cruelty of a species who has always thought to be independent from its environment and that today is called to re-thing its transition from the idea of omnipotence to that of respect, solidarity and responsibility towards the difference and dignity of other species, of the environment, of those in need, of cultures, religions: in one word, of life in all its forms.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
