The paper is focused on the relationship between family and economic inequality: our main results are the following. We show that the number of earners in a family (one or two, full-time or part-time) has a sizable impact on income inequality. We show also we how mating patterns, according to level of education and individual income levels, is also a further channel of family income inequality.
