The universal exhibition "Expo 2015" stresses the world food problems and the energy topics. These concerns deal with the relationships between human populations and Earth resources, that are finite and in part not renewable. In this article there are three main orders of reflection: first of all, it shows the increasing attention devoted by the Roman Catholic Church to the serious responsibilities of the human beings for the biophysical and social elements of universe. Second, it puts into discussion the idea of a progress based on increasing resources available to humanity. Finally, some problematic issues and some possible good practices, relating to the territory and food supply, are exemplified, such as a reduction of soil consumption and food waste, through a widespread recovery of attention about the daily patterns of social behavior.

Abstract
The universal exhibition "Expo 2015" stresses the world food problems and the energy topics. These concerns deal with the relationships between human populations and Earth resources, that are finite and in part not renewable. In this article there are three main orders of reflection: first of all, it shows the increasing attention devoted by the Roman Catholic Church to the serious responsibilities of the human beings for the biophysical and social elements of universe. Second, it puts into discussion the idea of a progress based on increasing resources available to humanity. Finally, some problematic issues and some possible good practices, relating to the territory and food supply, are exemplified, such as a reduction of soil consumption and food waste, through a widespread recovery of attention about the daily patterns of social behavior.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
