Protecting Cultural Heritage as a Common Good of Humanity: A Challenge for Criminal Justice.

This book offers a collection of selected papers and contributions from the International Conference on “Protecting cultural heritage as a common good of humanity: A challenge for criminal justice”, held in Courmayeur Mont Blanc, Italy, on 13-15 December 2013, and organized by the International Scientific and Professional Advisory Council of the United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme (ISPAC). The volume deals with the complex questions related to cultural heritage protection, particularly against the illicit trafficking in cultural objects, from both a national and an international perspective. The origins and characteristics of crimes against cultural heritage are explored, as well as international law, criminal law and civil law measures to tackle trafficking and related offences.
