The contribution deals with the theme of family memories, as symbolical heritage that is handed down from generation to generation, in the form of rules, expectations and representations. The educational potentiality of family memories make transmission not only an opportunity to gain greater awareness of the past (and own history), but also a stimulus to interrogate the present and plan for the future. The reflective practices may constitute, in this sense, an educational resource, to rediscover the value of intergenerational relationships, family traditions, and different educational knowledge.
