This article is focusing on how élites behaved and were asserting themselves in a little but important town, Lodi, during ancient regime. In particular, this contribution studies the reasons lying behind the creation of chaplaincies and benefices, in such a manner as to allow social groups to gain and/or keep political power at urban level.
