In the excavations carried out in Trezzo sull'Adda - San Martino the earliest layers (dating back to the Roman age) yelded several metalworking debris, related both to casting of copper alloys and iron smithing: they are likely to be related to small-scale activities carried out within the Roman Villa, such as tools- and vessels-repairing,as it was largely usual throughout the Roman world.
