The article presents family counseling as a form of support aimed at enhancing the educative potential of the individuals who ask for guidance. Its function is to bring about a deeper understanding of specific difficulties, thus occasioning changes in the educative dynamics of the individual, the couple, the family. As such, it becomes a tool to develop one’s educative skills, as well as one’s potential for self-determination and self-improvement.
Nel contributo si presenta la consulenza educativa come relazione di sostegno tesa a promuovere le potenzialità educative insite nei soggetti in condizioni di bisogno. Essa ha la funzione di contribuire al chiarimento della situazione di difficoltà educativa, suscitando cambiamenti nelle dinamiche formative della persona, della coppia parentale, della famiglia. Si configura, pertanto, come strumento per accrescere le competenze educative individuali esaltando le capacità di autodeterminazione e di autoeducazione della persona.
