The essay analyzes the role of Nanda Vigo's interiors in a series of mistery and thriller Italian movies from the 1970s; as well as the art pieces included in such spaces. Vigo's design has a specific dramatic funcion, both as a marker of a modernist "cold" logic against the backdrop of traditional Italian locations, and as a background framing specific, sometimes sterotyped characters.
