In viaggio con l'invisibile. L'educazione estetica con bambine e bambini

The essay takes its starting point from Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir’s "Animal Life" and the unusual prophecy of the midwife Fifa: in a possible future world, there will still be a place for children, poets and all those who have managed to preserve a childlike capacity for wonder. From this image emerges a journey into the invisible, weaving together aesthetic education, childhood and spirituality. Engaging with Baumgarten, Dewey, Benjamin, Campo and Dissanayake, this contribution explores aisthesis as a space of vulnerability, transformation and openness to the unknown. Children’s voices and forms of expression show how childhood is able to dwell on the big questions that adults tend to brush aside. Finally, the art of theatre points to a possible practice of aesthetic education: safeguarding spaces in which to summon the absent, to give form to that which eludes understanding, and to allow the unexpected to happen.

Il saggio prende avvio da "La vita degli animali" di Auður Ava Ólafsdóttir e dalla singolare profezia dell’ostetrica Fifa: in un possibile mondo futuro troveranno ancora posto i bambini, i poeti e quanti avranno saputo preservare la capacità infantile di stupirsi. Da questa immagine prende forma un viaggio con l’invisibile che intreccia educazione estetica, infanzia e spiritualità. In dialogo con Baumgarten, Dewey, Benjamin, Campo e Dissanayake, il contributo interroga l’aisthesis come luogo di vulnerabilità, trasformazione e apertura all’ignoto. Le voci e forme espressive dei bambini mostrano come l’infanzia sappia sostare sulle grandi domande che l’adulto tende a rimuovere. L'arte del teatro indica infine una possibile pratica di educazione estetica: custodire spazi nei quali convocare l’assente, dare corpo a ciò che sfugge al concetto e lasciare che l’inatteso possa accadere.
