This chapter examines educational continuity within Italy’s integrated early childhood education and care system from birth to age six. Drawing on the conceptual triad of right, tension, and practice, continuity is understood not simply as coordination between the 0–3 and 3–6 sectors, but as the capacity to provide children with coherent, progressive, and non-fragmented educational experiences. The chapter discusses the national regulatory and pedagogical framework, the curricular and organisational dimensions of continuity, and the role of pedagogical coordination, documentation, observation, joint training, professional networks, and partnerships with families. Particular attention is paid to the Milan context and to evidence from the EDUFIRST project, highlighting the importance of professional reflexivity and organisational conditions in sustaining continuity. The chapter ultimately frames continuity as a key criterion of quality and equity in the 0–6 system and as a shared responsibility across professionals, services, and governance levels.
