The epigraph CIL V, 5124 is the only surviving document concerning the celebration of 'Ludi Circenses' in 'Bergomum'. Its controversial text commemorates the fight between two gladiators under the reign of Gordian III, offered by a local magistrate, Eutychianus. The research tries to use the few textual information in order to recreate the linguistic, socio-political and economic context of 'Bergomum' in the Late Antiquity.
