The essay deals with different adaptations for cinema of the Italian novel "Pinocchio". The main point is how different films are faithful or not in adapting the basic moral dilemmas of the character. My hypothesis is that if you do not respect these dilemmas, that are crucial in making the character of Pinocchio interesting, you have films that are very weak and do not convey any real emotion, because they lack a moral theme.

Abstract
