The new ways of looking for information and new technologies require those in the field of language teaching to reflect on the ways languages are taught. Particular attention should be paid to the teaching of vocabulary, an area which has been neglected for too long in language teaching, which should no longer be seen as isolated forms, but as text, as a network of knowledge. Useful tools for learning vocabulary are supplied by new technologies and in particular by the Internet, such as electronic dictionaries, corpora and collaborative Web activities. With the use of new technologies it is not only teaching/learning which is changing, but also the figure of the language teacher, who should be given adequate methodological training in order to be able to manage the new language learning environments most effectively.
I nuovi modi di cercare informazioni e le nuove tecnologie richiedono una riflessione in ambito glottodidattico sui modi di insegnare le lingue. Una particolare attenzione va rivolta all’apprendimento del lessico, ambito troppo a lungo trascurato nella didattica delle lingue, visto non più come forme isolate, ma come testo, come rete di conoscenze. Strumenti utili per l’apprendimento del lessico sono forniti dalle nuove tecnologie e in particolare da Internet, come dizionari elettronici, corpora e attività collaborative per Web. Con l’uso delle nuove tecnologie cambia non solo l’insegnamento/apprendimento, ma anche la figura del docente di lingue, al quale dovrà essere fornita un’adeguata formazione metodologica per poter gestire al meglio nuovi ambienti di educazione linguistica.
