Variazioni su democrazia (moderna), sinodalità e altre cose

Starting from the current debate on the crisis of democracy the contribution focuses on the modern origins of the democratic model, emphasizing the need for a re-discussion of its theoretical assumptions. The analysis of some issues underlying the current socio-logical scenario, with particular regard to the populism, highlights the relevant role played by the cognitive substratum ('common sense') on the democratic apparatus. In this way, a comparison is established with the category, only apparently similar, of 'synodality': from this point of view it is clear how, in a more general perspective, a cultural mutation is emerging as regards the transformation of the coordinates involving the horizon of democracy and the Church-synod binomial.
