"Non sarà male per loro che si mettano d’accordo tra loro in pace”. L’Islam e la riconciliazione

This paper explores the central role of reconciliation and peace in the Qur’anic worldview, highlighting them as preferred ethical and spiritual paths in human relationships. Through an analysis of key Qur’anic concepts such as ṣulḥ (reconciliation), salām (peace), and raḥma (mercy), the study shows how the Qur’an consistently encourages the resolution of conflict through dialogue, forgiveness, and justice. Rather than legitimizing violence as a norm, the Qur’an presents peace as the original and desirable condition, allowing conflict only as a last resort and under strict moral constraints. The contribution concludes by reflecting on the contemporary relevance of Qur’anic teachings on reconciliation for peacebuilding and interreligious dialogue in today’s pluralistic societies.
