The paper reconstructs the epistolary and poetic exchange between Veronica Gambara and Pietro Aretino: their dialogue places Gambara within an important network of contacts and provides us numerous details about authors, works, issues of the time: it also sheds light ‘from the inside’ on figures, moments and events of the literary life of the fourth and fifth decades of the sixteenth century.
