The chapter is focused on the topic of identity performances in social network sites (SNS). The first part of the chapter is aimed at presenting the contemporary theories on identity performances in SNS. The second part of the chapter presents the results of a research conducted at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan based on qualitative methodology (intreviews) at young italians using SNS. Different styles of identity management are presented and related to socio-cultural variables.
