This chapter is an introduction to the volume HEALTHCARE, MIGRATION AND POLITICS IN THE MIDDLE EAST. THE COVID-19 IN LOCAL CONTEXTS, which aims to look at how Covid-19 is linked to healthcare and international migration in some Middle Eastern contexts. The investigated case studies are presented, while challenging the idea of migrants as victims of the pandemic, as their active role and contribution to dealing with the health crisis is highlighted in each contribution. The link between the pandemic, migrants and refugees, and socio-economic and political implications in MENA comes to the fore, and the authors discuss the adopted encompassing perspective, exploring strategies at micro, meso and macro levels.
