In the digital era, knowledge has become a central organizational asset. However, the phenomenon of knowledge hiding—the intentional concealment of knowledge when requested by others—represents a critical barrier to effective knowledge management. While existing research has extensively explored the antecedents and consequences of knowledge hiding, little is known about how emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), influence these dynamics. This paper presents a systematic literature review to examine the intersection between knowledge hiding and AI adoption within organizations. By analyzing 90 peer-reviewed articles from 2012 to 2025, the review uncovers how AI may act both as a catalyst and inhibitor of knowledge hiding. It identifies key tensions related to trust, surveillance, autonomy, and control in AI-mediated work environments. The paper contributes a conceptual framework highlighting the dual role of AI in shaping knowledge behaviors and offers a research agenda to guide future empirical investigations in this nascent field.
