The expression 'lex agrorum dicta' is used in the Corpus Agrimensorum Romanorum treatises and occasionally in Roman legal sources to refer to the official regulation of a rural territory enacted by magistrates appointed by the Senate or the people/plebs for this purpose, particularly in the context of a colonial foundation. This regulation drew upon the exceptional expertise of land surveyors. Very little has been written about these in the literature to date. This essay examines the meaning of the expression and the content of the leges agrorum dictae in the Corpus Agrimensorum Romanorum sources and the Justinian Digest texts.

Abstract
The expression 'lex agrorum dicta' is used in the Corpus Agrimensorum Romanorum treatises and occasionally in Roman legal sources to refer to the official regulation of a rural territory enacted by magistrates appointed by the Senate or the people/plebs for this purpose, particularly in the context of a colonial foundation. This regulation drew upon the exceptional expertise of land surveyors. Very little has been written about these in the literature to date. This essay examines the meaning of the expression and the content of the leges agrorum dictae in the Corpus Agrimensorum Romanorum sources and the Justinian Digest texts.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
