The author of the book of Wisdom has used the concept of spirit to illustrate the essence of wisdom and this allows him to show that the divine transcendence does not exclude the actual closeness of God to the world and especially to those who, like Solomon, prepare themselves for receiving the gift of His friendship. A person applying for an immediate encounter with God, is invited to cohabit with wisdom, which operates in the human person as the spirit, so it is not a sum of knowledge or skills to be acquired or a pure act of intellect, but it is she who introduces a genuine relationship with God an empowers to become heralds of His will in the world.
