The historical-juridical experience of Northern Italy is characterized by ‘usi civici’ and collective properties which for centuries held a fundamental importance for the life of rural communities. An intense work of liquidation was undertaken against these phenomena, first during the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy, and later the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, aimed at obtaining the improvement of agriculture and imposing the modern proprietary paradigm. It is on these interventions that the present contribution intends to focus, analysing the main measures adopted on the matter in the first half of the 19th century.

Abstract
The historical-juridical experience of Northern Italy is characterized by ‘usi civici’ and collective properties which for centuries held a fundamental importance for the life of rural communities. An intense work of liquidation was undertaken against these phenomena, first during the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy, and later the Kingdom of Lombardy-Venetia, aimed at obtaining the improvement of agriculture and imposing the modern proprietary paradigm. It is on these interventions that the present contribution intends to focus, analysing the main measures adopted on the matter in the first half of the 19th century.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
