The present volume offers an in-depth analysis of text and discourse cohesion within the theoretical framework of Congruity Theory, a semantico-pragmatic approach to text, viewed as a complex speech act consisting of utterances linked together through connectives, logic-semantic relations that form the thread of discourse. Connectives, often reconstructed inferentially, can be expressed through connectors, linguistic markers of various kinds that are investigated in this study from a contrastive and argumentative perspective.

Abstract
The present volume offers an in-depth analysis of text and discourse cohesion within the theoretical framework of Congruity Theory, a semantico-pragmatic approach to text, viewed as a complex speech act consisting of utterances linked together through connectives, logic-semantic relations that form the thread of discourse. Connectives, often reconstructed inferentially, can be expressed through connectors, linguistic markers of various kinds that are investigated in this study from a contrastive and argumentative perspective.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
