"Se sai, sai accogliere". Alterità religiosa e prevenzione del conflitto: l'Islam tra noi.

As the data show, Italy has for years been characterized by evident linguistic, cultural and religious diversity. This pluralism is certainly a resource in the public sphere, but it also poses many challenges in terms of reception, policies, education, dialogue and, ultimately, mutual understanding and knowledge. What is needed fi rst and foremost, therefore, is the deconstruction of stereotypes and prejudices, which can inevitably limit encounters with others, or even prevent them, by generating misunderstandings and defensive attitudes. In particular, this contribution explores the Islamic presence, especially in educational contexts, and highlights the importance of encounter and dialogue as a means of confl ict prevention and peacebuilding.
