This report provides an overview of the work carried out by Crime&tech, a spin-off of Transcrime, within the Horizon Europe-funded project EMERITUS (Environmental Crimes’ Intelligence and Investigation Protocol Based on Multiple Data Sources), which aimed to enhance law enforcement capabilities in tackling environmental waste crime. Crime&tech led the development of a multi-phase investigative protocol, based on a literature review, analysis of judicial cases, and interviews with law enforcement practitioners. The protocol, integrated into the EMERITUS platform, is designed to support authorities throughout the entire investigative process, and integrates the technologies developed within EMERITUS to improve monitoring and evidence collection.

Abstract
This report provides an overview of the work carried out by Crime&tech, a spin-off of Transcrime, within the Horizon Europe-funded project EMERITUS (Environmental Crimes’ Intelligence and Investigation Protocol Based on Multiple Data Sources), which aimed to enhance law enforcement capabilities in tackling environmental waste crime. Crime&tech led the development of a multi-phase investigative protocol, based on a literature review, analysis of judicial cases, and interviews with law enforcement practitioners. The protocol, integrated into the EMERITUS platform, is designed to support authorities throughout the entire investigative process, and integrates the technologies developed within EMERITUS to improve monitoring and evidence collection.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
