This essay focuses on the study of the editorial transmission of therapeutic indications concerning American medicinal plants to Europe during the sixteenth century. The primary focus of the study is on the reception of the virtues and therapeutic applications of the tobacco plant in the context of indigenous medical practice within the European colonial sphere. This reception is examined through the lens of ancient books derived from Spanish and Italian publishing, with the research being constrained to the sixteenth century.
