This contribution examines Giovanni Bernardo De Rossi’s bibliographical studies. The analysis of his bibliographical works in succession recognizes models, sources and method of description. The bigger picture shows a scholar who was very careful and precise, but not particularly revolutionary when strictly considering his technique. The interest is also focused on the fruitful relationship between De Rossi’s personal library and his bibliographical works.
