The archaeological excavations conducted in Sergnano (CR) have identified the remains of installations of roman age for the storage and processing of agricultural products. In the north-west sector of the investigated area there were four silos and a probable elevated granary for storing food in use during the 1st century BC. Not far away, the remains of a rustic structure dating back to Late Antiquity (4th-5th century AD) made of wood have been identified. Here, along the banks of a canal, the remains of structures can be interpreted as a hydraulic mill for grinding cereals.

Abstract
The archaeological excavations conducted in Sergnano (CR) have identified the remains of installations of roman age for the storage and processing of agricultural products. In the north-west sector of the investigated area there were four silos and a probable elevated granary for storing food in use during the 1st century BC. Not far away, the remains of a rustic structure dating back to Late Antiquity (4th-5th century AD) made of wood have been identified. Here, along the banks of a canal, the remains of structures can be interpreted as a hydraulic mill for grinding cereals.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
