Abstract
The evidence concerning the meetings between Dominic and Cardinal Hugo of Ostia between 1215 and 1221 is reconsidered in order to highlight the close collaboration that soon developed between Dominic and the Roman Curia. He was able to provide an answer to the question of the regularisation of female religious life and, with his decision to devote himself to preaching, he offered a model for the establishment of preachers in support of the episcopate, as the Fourth Lateran Council had established. The strong bond established between Dominic and Cardinal Hugh was sealed by the latter's presence in Bologna both during Dominic's illness and even at his funeral.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
