Attorno alla "geografia" di Maria Lai

The intervention is a key part of a small monograph dedicated to a work by Maria Lai, one of the most interesting of her "Geographies". It constitutes the occasion for a reflection on the concept of geography in the vocabulary of the Sardinian artist. The form of the Earth or of some parts of it, indeed, is the subject of works of art into which the dialogue betwee the concept of place and the reality of site is reflected, in the specific case, around the role that the town of Ulassai has, for Maria Lai, in a vision of the relationship between the specific and cosmic space, perpsective of her "geography" of the imaginary.
