The essay reconstructs the artistic activity of Antonio Simionato, a painter trained at the Scuola Superiore di Belle Arti in Domodossola and linked to the Movimento Arte Concreta (M.A.C.) in Milan and the Groupe Espace in Paris. The essay reconstructs for the first time Simionato's artistic career from geometric abstraction to the informal and more mystical phase of his maturity, relating it to the Italian cultural context from the 1950s to the 1970s.
