The book analyses the sense of formative actions that organizations (public, profit and no- profit) turn to the so-called human resources. Thanks to the categories of the pedagogy of work, the essay critically examines the relationship between training and change, studying their aims and range of activities. It analyses the project, both as a product and as a process, paying attention to the studies that deals not only with the technique but also with what is the implicit in the work of the planners. Finally, the essay recognizes the limits of a linear formative planning and assumes to adopt the category of ‘process’, thanks to which the formative trainings can be collocated in the specific context and shaped according to the person who takes part in it, too often reduced to mere participant
